Do you know Mauro?

Ciao ciao! Today I would like to show you some outfits from  Mauro Grifoni, spring-summer 2013 collection. This label started in 1992, with a series of handmade shirts for men and women. The fabrics used are high quality. There is a main shop in Milan but during one of my "shopping session" I have recently discovered other places in the city where you can find some nice pieces from this "chic with a twist of funky" brand! Would you like to wear one of these?

Happy and Stylish!

Happy and Stylish New year to you! Sorry for this long silence, I have just moved to Milano and it took me some time to settle but now I am back at Style & the City! So...are you ready to kick the new year off with style?
Let s start by having a look at the 3 big recurrent themes seen in the last fashion shows:
  • the 80's: square shoulders, mini skirt, buttonned shirt, strict collar...
  • the 60's: pastel colors, round collar, girlie attitude...
and the what I would name
  • "the 2013 woman": in black and white or bright colors, always with sober cuts and shapes.
Here are a few pictures selected for you. Wich one of these styles inspire you the most?

The Strapless dress

If you live in Singapore (the endless summer city) and love going out on evenings then you probably have a strapless dress and if you don't... well, I guess you are going to think about it from now! Here are my selection of the day. Later on I will suggest you what to wear with once you are indoor, meaning a bar or a restaurant, meaning a cold and freezing place thanks to some powerfull air-cons! Because do you really think a pashmina is a good idea to cover you shoulders in such an elegant and feminine outfit? Well if you are going for a tea-ceremony with your granny...why not...otherwise....So pick your dress and stay tuned in I'll show you soon!

What do I wear for an opening?

You are planning to go to an opening at an art Gallery. The d-day comes and you find yourself  in front of your wardrobe with the question: what should I wear?
Here are a few tips:
Choose your favorite jacket/tuxedo , no show-off but fancy your style with accessories on the edge.  I won't recommend wearing prints excepted if you go to a Pierre Soulages exhibition! There is always a photographer and chances are you might appear on some pics. Clothes with colors and prints will create some visuals interferences with the artworks. Instead, a one-to two colors block outfit will flatter and sharp your silhouette. My two proposals below shows jackets and pants but the little black dress or skirt are also appropriated for such event!
By the way, if you are in Paris, I highly recommend you to see Gerhard Richter exhibition at Pompidou Center:  stunning!!
